Privacy Policy

1. What NotesIQ reads

NotesIQ reads your Notes, your Substack profile, and your subscriber/engagement stats through your existing, already-logged-in Substack session in your browser. It does not ask for or store your Substack password - it never sees it.

2. Where your data is stored

By default, everything NotesIQ reads is stored locally in your browser, using IndexedDB. It is not uploaded to, or stored on, any NotesIQ server. If you uninstall the extension or clear your browser's site data, this local data is deleted.

3. No NotesIQ server

NotesIQ does not operate a server that receives your Notes, stats, or any other data from the extension. No feature - analytics, scheduling, Competitor Analysis, Media Kit, CSV export - sends your data to us. The only request the extension makes on its own, besides the Substack pages you are already viewing, is license activation and status checks, which go directly from your browser to our payment provider.

4. Payments

Lifetime purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider. NotesIQ does not collect or store your card details or purchase history - we check your license directly with the payment provider each time it matters, rather than keeping our own copy.

5. No tracking, no accounts

The NotesIQ extension itself does not use analytics, telemetry, or fingerprinting, and does not require an account or sign-up to use the Lifetime plan. This applies to the extension's functionality - what runs in your browser while you use NotesIQ on Substack.

This marketing website (notesiq.app) is separate from the extension and uses Google Analytics to understand site traffic (pages visited, general location, device type). This is standard website analytics, unrelated to your Substack Notes data, and does not run inside the extension.

6. Your control over your data

You can export or permanently wipe your locally stored data from the extension's settings at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes it as well.

7. Children's privacy

NotesIQ is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect data from, children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note it in the extension.
