Privacy Policy

1. What NotesIQ reads

NotesIQ reads your Notes, your Substack profile, and your subscriber/engagement stats through your existing, already-logged-in Substack session in your browser. It does not ask for or store your Substack password — it never sees it.

2. Where your data is stored

By default, everything NotesIQ reads is stored locally in your browser, using IndexedDB. It is not uploaded to, or stored on, any NotesIQ server. If you uninstall the extension or clear your browser's site data, this local data is deleted.

3. The one disclosed exception

AI features (Ghostwriter, AI Post Coach) are the only functionality that calls a NotesIQ server (“the relay”). Specifically:

• When you use Ghostwriter, the topic you type and your top-performing Notes (used to match your writing style) are sent to our relay to generate a draft.
• When AI Post Coach generates a suggestion, the relevant performance stats used to ground that suggestion are sent to our relay.
• Both requests include your AI Pro license key, which our relay checks directly with our payment provider before generating anything — this happens on every request, since we don't keep our own record of who's subscribed.

No other feature — analytics, scheduling, Competitor Analysis, Media Kit, CSV export — contacts any server. License activation and status checks for both Lifetime and AI Pro keys are sent directly from your browser to our payment provider, never through a NotesIQ server.

4. Payments

Lifetime and AI Pro purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider. NotesIQ does not collect or store your card details, purchase history, or subscription status — we check your license directly with the payment provider each time it matters, rather than keeping our own copy.

5. No tracking, no accounts

NotesIQ does not use analytics, telemetry, or fingerprinting, and does not require an account or sign-up to use the Lifetime plan.

6. Your control over your data

You can export or permanently wipe your locally stored data from the extension's settings at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes it as well.

7. Children's privacy

NotesIQ is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect data from, children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note it in the extension.
